Roost to discuss Europe’s
diversity at International Luncheon
Release Date: February 6, 2004
MONMOUTH, Ill. — Alisa Roost, assistant professor
of communication and theater arts at Monmouth College, will be the
featured speaker at an International Luncheon on Feb. 11 at noon in the
Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room in the college’s Stockdale Center.
Entitled “Three Corners of Europe,” Roost’s
lecture will include highlights of her recent travels to Portugal, Spain,
Turkey and London. Vastly different, these three regions of Europe
provided numerous anecdotal perspectives, Roost says, adding, “From the
Alhambra to Hagia Sophia, from graffiti in Portugal to CNN Turk, these
corners of Europe layered cultures and religions.”
The presentation is free and open to the public. A
buffet lunch, featuring international foods, is available. A meal ticket
may be purchased for $5 at the Stockdale Center’s Scan Plus office. Lunch
reservations must be made in advance by contacting professor Sue Holm at
309-457-2150 or susan@monm.edu .
