Release Date: February 9, 2005
MONMOUTH, Ill. — Ken Cramer, chair of the
biology department at Monmouth College, will be the featured speaker at an
International Luncheon on Feb. 16 at noon in the Whiteman-McMillan
Highlander Room in the college’s Stockdale Center.
Entitled “Spiders and Snakes and Students, Oh My!,” Cramer’s talk will

he took students from his insect ecology class to the tropical forest

His presentation, which is free and open to the public, will include his
“unanticipated side trip to experience small-town Panamanian emergency
health care for treatment of fer-de-lance (viper) envenomation.”
A buffet lunch, featuring international foods, is available. A meal ticket
may be purchased for $5 at the Stockdale Center’s Scan Plus office. Lunch
reservations must be made in advance by contacting professor Sue Holm at
