MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Maple Leaf Community Concert Series (MLCCS)
received a $12,000 gift this week from Monmouth College.
The check was presented by Monmouth College president Mauri Ditzler.
Representing MLCCS were president Vicki Hennenfent, treasurer Don
Kettering and finance committee co-chairs Marilyn Algren and Jim McCurdy.
“Monmouth College is committed to enriching the cultural life of the
community,” said Ditzler. “Supporting this magnificent concert series is
an important part of that commitment.”
Monmouth College has supported the concert series, which brings an array
of world-class musicians and performers to its stage, since its inception
15 years ago. The college hosts the concerts in the Kasch Performance Hall
of its Dahl Chapel and Auditorium, and there is no charge to the MLCCS
organization for the use of the facility.
Hennenfent thanked Ditzler for not only the gift, but for the hours of
volunteer time contributed to the organization by college faculty, staff
and students.
The current season will conclude with performances by Mojo & the Bayou
Gypsies on Feb. 18 and the Chicago Children’s Choir on April 23.
