MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Maple Leaf Community Concert Series (MLCCS) recently
received a $12,000 gift from Monmouth College.
The check was presented by Monmouth College president Mauri Ditzler.
Representing MLCCS were president Mary Alice Toal and treasurer Don Kettering.
“Monmouth College salutes the concert committee for consistently bringing a high
quality and variety of musical performance to the Maple City and to our campus,”
said Ditzler. “We are proud to lend our support to a series that has become a
cultural institution in this community."
Monmouth College has supported the MLCCS, which annually brings an array of
world-class musicians and performers to its stage, since its inception 16 years
ago. The college hosts the concerts in the Kasch Performance Hall of its Dahl
Chapel and Auditorium, and there is no charge to the MLCCS organization for the
use of the facility.
Toal thanked Ditzler for both the donation, which will fund about 30 percent of
the series budget, and the volunteer time contributed to the organization by
college faculty, staff and students.
The current season will conclude with performances by the Bay Street Brass Works
on March 8 and the Piano 4 on April 15.
