Monmouth’ Release Date:
December 2, 2008
MONMOUTH, Ill. — Area residents will have two opportunities
to attend what has become a popular local holiday tradition – Monmouth College’s
annual "Christmas at Monmouth" concert.
The free concerts will be held in the Kasch Performance Hall of the
college’s Dahl Chapel and Auditorium on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 7
at 2 p.m. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early, as seating is
usually limited.
The "Christmas at Monmouth" concert traditionally intertwines
narration and choral music to tell the story of the Nativity. Providing
scripture and other inspirational reading will be the Rev. Dr. B.
Kathleen Fannin, MC’s chaplain. Monmouth College groups performing will
include the Chorale, the Concert Choir and the Chamber Orchestra.
As is the tradition with the concert, the congregation will be asked
to join in the singing of some traditional Christmas carols and hymns.
