"I am confident that Mary will be an effective representative of Monmouth College and will be successful in raising philanthropic gifts from alumni and friends to help advance our institution," said J. Lance Cavanaugh, vice president for development and college relations.

Stahl, who will begin her duties on Jan. 28, is currently the director of development for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria. She has spent most of her professional career in hospital administration, initially at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and later at Community Medical Center in Monmouth, where she worked from 1998 until 2006. At that facility, she served three years as director of marketing and human resources and five years as vice president for marketing and resource development.

Stahl has been involved in the Monmouth community through various boards and organizations, including the Warren County United Way, the Warren County YMCA, Warren Achievement Center and Security Savings Bank. In recognition of her community service, Stahl received the 2006 Athena Award from the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce.

She is married to Monmouth College classmate Brett Stahl. The couple lives just outside of Monmouth with their two children.
