Monmouth College to host
Veterans Forum on Nov. 13

MONMOUTH, Ill. — To mark the observance of Veterans Day, Monmouth
College will host a Veterans Forum on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Morgan
Room of Poling Hall.
Veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam and Operations Desert
Storm, Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, representing each branch of
the Armed Forces, will share their experiences and memories of their
military service. Following the presentation, audience members will have
the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.
Free and open to the public, the event is sponsored by the college’s
Beta Phi chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society.
"Our chapter is privileged to have the opportunity of providing
firsthand accounts of our country’s latest and greatest wars, as told by
some of the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who fought in those
conflicts," said chapter president Matthew Montgomery, a senior from
Potomac, Ill.
