Monmouth won
its second straight indoor track conference championship and its fourth in
six seasons behind a dominating team performance at Cornell. The Fighting
Scots won 12 events, including both 4x200 and 4x400 relays in MWC record
times, and were the only team to top the 100-point mark. The meet was
highlighted by sophomore Shawn Maze=s school-record clearance of 7'0" in the
high jump and three individual wins by both David Thompson (55m, long and
triple jumps) and Jamie Verstraete (1000, 1500, 3000). Dennis Staggs claimed
both hurdle events and Chris Sondgeroth won his first shot put title. |
