1999 Men's Outdoor Track and Field
Season Summary
| Monmouth College men finished
third overall at the MWC Track & Field Championship meet held at
Monmouth College. Some of the highlights for the Scots at the meet
were sophomore Justin Bryant who placed second in the 200 m and third in
the 400 m dash. Freshmen Scott Stanton finished first in the 110 m
high hurdles, and second in the 400 m int. hurdles. Sophomore Tony
Miles also contributed by placing third in the 1500 m, fourth in the 3000
m, and seventh in the 5000 m. As for the field events Dan Taylor
took third place in the javelin and seventh in the shot put.
Sophomore
high jumper Cort Mills place second in the high jump at the meet as
well as winning NCAA Division III All-American honors with an
eight-place finish in the national meet. Mills cleared 6-6 and 3/4. He's only the second Monmouth male All-American in
the event and his season-best of 6-9 and 1/4 trails only 1986 national
champ Eric Ealy (6-10 3/4) on the Scots' all-time list. |
