| The Fighting Scot women finished
first in the MWC track & field championships, held St. Norbert College.
The Scots were represented at the national level as six women
qualified for the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track and Field
Championships. The meet was hosted by Macalester College in St.
Paul, Minnesota. The women's 4x100 relay team of Heather Furrow,
Stacy Brown, Christy Keller, and Constance Jackson broke a two-year-old
school record and posted the third-fastest time in the country in the
process. The quartet finished in 47.95 seconds, the first-ever
sub-48 second relay in team history, and broke the old mark of :48.05 set
by the 1996 All-American team. In addition to the relay team, Brown
and Jackson are each entered in both the women's 100- and 200 meter
dashes. Furrow is also entered in the 400 meters and the 400-meter
intermediate hurdles. Other Scot contenders were Tennille McClure
who qualified automatically in the discus with a thow of 145'0".
Stephanie Schuler rounds out the women's list of qualifiers as she cleared
the provisional height of 5'4-1/2 in the high jump. |
