The Fighting Scot women
regained the MWC title in 2000. MC edged Carroll 196.5-194, hanging onto
the half-point lead it had entering the final race, the 4x400, by winning
the event while Carroll placed second, 7.44 seconds behind. Constance
Jackson recorded firsts in three individual events, the long jump and the
100- and 200-meter dashes, to earn of the meet's three Most Outstanding
Performer Awards. She also ran on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays. The
latter squad set an MWC Meet record. Other champs for Monmouth were
Melissa Jones in the high jump, Kara Kuhrts in the triple jump, Jill Hoops
in both hurdle races and Philicia Moredock in the 400. |
