MONMOUTH, Ill. – Monmouth College freshman Amy Unzicker (Morton,
Ill./Morton) can add the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honor
in women’s tennis to her resumé.
Unzicker, who last week received the conference’s POW honor in
women’s soccer, turned her attention last weekend to her other fall
sport – tennis – and excelled on the court as well. Competing at the
Quincy University Invitational, which included Division II and NAIA
scholarship schools, she combined with sophomore Kimi Wegner to win the
No. 2 doubles completion. Playing at No. 2 singles, she finished second,
falling in three sets. For the season, the talented freshman is a
combined 10-2 in singles and doubles competition.
