Mark Allen named MWC Men's Soccer Offensive Player
of the Week
Release Date: October 24, 2000
A hat trick and two game-tying goals in three matches
helped Monmouth College’s Mark Allen earn his first Midwest Conference Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week honor.
The freshman midfielder from Milan, Ill. (Sherrard H.S.)
scored the game-tying goal last Tuesday in an eventual 3-2 loss to Illinois Wesleyan,
then drilled three goals in a 4-0 win over Lawrence Saturday and followed that up by
scoring the Fighting Scots’ lone goal in a 1-1 tie with St. Norbert on Sunday. The Scots
finished the week at 1-1-1. Allen is leading the Monmouth scoring with 11 goals and 23
points. He is currently sixth in the conference standings posting 11 points in MWC play.
The Fighting Scots will host arch rival Knox in their
final home match of the year Saturday at 1 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Athletic Park. |
