Kim Olson Named MWC Women's Soccer Co-Player of
the Week
Release Date: October 4, 2000
It’s not getting "old hat" - as
in hat trick - for Monmouth College’s Kim Olson after picking up her second
Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1.
Thanks to the freshman forward’s fast
start, scoring a hat trick in each of her first three matches, goals scored last week
against Benedictine and arch-rival Knox have given her the single season scoring records
at Monmouth with 15 goals and 30 points. Olson (West Chicago, Ill./H.S.) posted the
clinching goal against the Prairie Fire and then tallied the team’s only goal against
Benedictine in setting the new standards.
Olson shares the MWC Offensive Player
of the Week honor with Angela Molnar of Beloit College (New Berlin, Wis./West H.S.), who
found the net five times last week.
The Fighting Scots will host
Culver-Stockton in their final home match of the year Friday at 4 p.m. at Peacock
Memorial Athletic Park. The team’s 12 seniors will sing the national anthem. |
