Olson’s coaching career has spanned 41 years and has produced 61 All-Americans, eight
national champions and Monmouth College’s only Midwest Conference team championship in
1997. He was inducted into the Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 1984.
Dr. Terry Glasgow, Monmouth’s athletic director, calls Olson’s selection "a true
tribute to the caliber of man Mike Olson is…this is quite an honor for Mike and the
college to have this representation on a national level."
Olson was hired as MC’s wrestling coach in 1990 and served in that capacity until the
program was discontinued after the 1998 season.
