Melissa Jones, a 5-10 freshman forward from Port
Byron, Ill., (East Moline H.S.) has been named Midwest Conference Player of the Week.
Jones powered the Fighting Scots to a 76-61 road win over Grinnell on Feb. 9, improving
their record to 10-10.
Jones collected 27 points on 10 of 21 shooting, 7 of 9 from the line, pulled down 10
rebounds, added 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. A math major, she has had consistent
numbers this season averaging 14.1 ppg and 7.4 rpg, both team highs.
