Monmouth College football fans will be in for a
special treat this season when the Italian Village in Monmouth hosts the inaugural
season of the "Scots Highlight Reel."
The audience participation discussion will be held each Sunday
night at 6 p.m. following that weekend’s game and will feature highlights from
Saturday’s game film and a breakdown of the contest by Scots’ coach Steve Bell. Various
coaches and players will also serve as guests each week.
"This is a great opportunity to get the most up-to-date
information and insight into Monmouth College football," said co-sports information
director Barry McNamara. "This will bring a ‘big-time’ feel to area sports fans who want
more than just the score of the game."
The "Highlight Reel" will use a town hall format with opening
comments by the coaches and players about the game. Fans will then view the actual game
film and get a coach’s perspective of the game. After a preview of upcoming action, fans
will get the chance to ask questions of the coaches and players.
"Hank Stern has been very generous in opening his upstairs
banquet facility to us for this weekly event," said McNamara. "We are very grateful for
that, and we hope the area fans will turn out to support the Scots each week at the game
and at the show at the I.V."
The one-half hour event is free and open to the public. McNamara
and Dan Nolan, the other co-SID, will alternate as hosts.
