
MC’s Johnson Named MWC Co-Player of the Week

College’s Ryan Johnson was named Midwest Conference co-Player of the Week for the South
Division for the week ending April 21.
The senior pitcher from Ottumwa, Iowa (HS), picked up a
pair of wins as the Scots improved their mark to 5-1 in the South Division.
Johnson came on in relief last Wednesday against
Grinnell and recorded the win in Monmouth's 3-2,
10-inning victory. He pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless
relief and struck out the side in the 10th. He then pitched a complete-game two-hitter
in Monmouth's 11-1 victory over Knox on Saturday. He allowed just one unearned run.
For the week, Johnson pitched 8.2 innings and allowed
two hits, no earned runs, two walks and eight strikeouts. He improved his record to 6-2
on the season and has a 5-0 record and a 1.01 earned run average in his last 26.2
innings.
Jake Green a junior infielder from Illinois College was
also named co-Player of the Week.
