MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College junior point guard Travis Miller (Pontiac,
Ill./Township) has claimed this week’s Midwest Conference Performer
of the Week honor in men’s basketball.
During the Scots’ 4-1 start, Miller has been
dominant, averaging 18.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while
dishing out 21 assists, all team highs.
In Monmouth’s only action last week, Miller
led the Scots to an 83-61 win over MacMurray, scoring 22 points on
10-of-17 shooting and pulling down eight rebounds. He also added
four assists and two steals.
“Travis certainly deserves the honor,” said
his coach, Terry Glasgow. “We felt by moving him to point guard this
season, he would be able to create some things, and he certainly has
not disappointed us.”
A business/management information systems
major, Miller is the son of Debra Miller of Pontiac and Robert
Miller of Bloomington.
