MONMOUTH, Ill. – Basketball junkies will be able to get their fix this weekend at Monmouth and Knox colleges when the 16th annual Pizza Hut/Econo Foods Basketball Classic tips off.

Monmouth and Galesburg Econo Foods stores and Pizza Hut restaurants have teamed up to provide free admission to the eight games Saturday and Sunday.

The Fighting Scots and the Prairie Fire will host women’s teams from Culver-Stockton College and William Woods University and men’s teams from Principia College and Maryville University. Game times in Monmouth and Galesburg are 5 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday.

On Saturday, the Scots women will host William Woods followed by the men hosting Principia. Sunday’s schedule finds the women playing host to Culver-Stockton, followed by the men entertaining Maryville.

On the women’s side, William Woods finished last season 18-13, Culver-Stockton was 11-22; in the men’s bracket, Principia turned in a record of 13-12 while Maryville was 7-18.
