MONMOUTH, Ill. – Senior linebacker Rob Rogers of Monmouth College came up big Saturday in one of college football's oldest rivalries and has been named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.

The East Moline resident (Orion H.S.) keyed the Scots to a 39-8 victory over Knox College in the 115th meeting between the two schools. Rogers closed out his NCAA career in convincing style with 10 tackles and an interception. He added one tackle for a loss and a pass breakup.

Rogers increased his season tackle total to 97, and he was just one stop shy of tying the Scots’ career tackle mark.
