MONMOUTH, Ill. – Although the Monmouth
College volleyball team just missed their third straight 20-win
season, they did reach at least 19 wins for the sixth straight year
and placed three on the All-Midwest Conference team.
Named to the first team was junior outside
hitter Molly Pendergrass (Galesburg, Ill./HS). Pendergrass led the
Fighting Scots in kills (497) and kills per game (3.77).
Junior setter Heather Randall (Biggsville,
Ill./Union), who set the school assist record (1,331), was named to
the second team. Joining Randall on the second team was senior
outside hitter Amy Bender (Crystal Lake, Ill./South). Bender set the
school record for digs (725) and led the team in digs per game
(5.62).
This marks the fifth straight year Monmouth
has placed at least three on the all-conference team. Bender and
Pendergrass also made the team in 2002.
