MONMOUTH, Ill. – Monmouth College’s Steve Myros (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way) had a clutch performance on the mound last weekend and has been rewarded with the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honor in baseball.

Myros pitched the Fighting Scots to a win in the opener of a key doubleheader Saturday, posting a 4-1 victory over Illinois College to ensure the Scots would do no worse than tie the Blueboys for the MWC South Division title. The junior right-hander allowed just one walk and seven hits in the complete game to improve to 5-2 on the year with an ERA of 3.04. The Scots then clinched the division crown in the nightcap with a 12-11 victory.

A business major, Myros is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Myros of New Lenox.
