MONMOUTH, Ill. — Chris Walker of Knoxville
High School plans to enroll at Monmouth College next fall and
continue his basketball career with the Fighting Scots.
A 6-foot-2 slasher, Walker participated in
the slam dunk contest at the state basketball finals. He also is
scheduled to compete in the Senior Shootout, which will be played at
Monmouth College’s Glennie Gym on June 12.
“I’m excited about Chris’s quickness and
athletic ability,” said MC coach Terry Glasgow, who has posted a
record of 439-278 in 32 seasons with the Fighting Scots. “He comes
from a long line of great Knoxville players, and he’ll fill a void
for us in terms of perimeter quickness.”
Former KHS basketball stars who have
attended Monmouth and excelled athletically include Brent Dugan,
Toby Whiteman, Eric Matthews and Justin Bryant.
Walker is the son of Kenneth Walker of
Gilson and Lorri Walker of Knoxville.
