MONMOUTH, Ill. — Blaise Rogers, who led
Midwest Central High School in points, rebounds, steals and assists
his senior season, will bring his well-rounded game to Monmouth
College, as he plans to enroll for the fall semester and continue
his basketball career with the Fighting Scots.
“Blaise is very athletic and is a very sound
basketball player,” said Terry Glasgow, who has compiled a 439-278
record in 32 seasons at Monmouth. “He can take the ball to the hoop,
and he has good quickness.”
At Midwest Central, Rogers netted 14.3
points per game to go with averages of 5.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and
1.5 steals. He made 107-of-129 free throw attempts (83 percent) and
shot 42 percent from the field.
The unanimous first team All-Tomahawk
Conference selection also made the Pekin Times first team All-Area
squad and the Peoria Journal-Star third-team All-Area unit. Rogers
was also an all-tournament selection at events in Athens and
Williamsville.
The son of Bobby and Rebecca Rogers of
Forest City, Rogers plans to major in history at Monmouth.
