MONMOUTH, Ill. – Two Monmouth College
golfers have received a pair of postseason honors. Nicole Auclair
(Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) and Amy Rassman (New Lenox,
Ill./Lincoln-Way) have been named to the CoSIDA Academic
All-District V College Division At-Large first team.
Auclair and Rassman will be placed on the
national ballot in voting for Academic All-American status, which
will be announced this summer. This is the second time in as many
years Monmouth has placed an athlete on the national ballot. Kara
Kuhrts was named All-District V for track in 2003.
Auclair, a five-time Dean’s List recipient
and two-time all-conference selection, also was named to the
National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar team in 2003. A
multi-sport athlete, she was recently named Co-SIDA Academic
All-District V second team in softball.
A biology/biochemistry major, she is the
daughter of Omer and Janet Auclair of Darien.
Rassman, who is the only woman golfer at
Monmouth to be a four-time all-conference player, is also two-time
member of National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar team. She
has been named to the Dean’s List six times and was named academic
all-conference three times.
An education major, she is the daughter of
Wayne and Linda Rassman of New Lenox.
“This is a great honor for Amy and Nicole.,”
said MC coach Bill Pieper. “We stress that academics and athletics
go hand-in-hand to produce a well-rounded student. It is a great
reflection on Monmouth College to be able to produce
scholar-athletes who are fine citizens as well.”
The CoSIDA Academic All-District V team is
voted on by sports information directors from District V, which
includes Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and two Canadian
provinces.
