
MC places 10 athletes on Academic All-MWC list

MONMOUTH, Ill. – A total of 10 student-athletes at Monmouth College
have been named to the Academic All-Midwest Conference team for the
winter 2004-05 sports season. Student-athletes must have achieved at
least a 3.2 grade point average to be eligible for the honor.
The Fighting Scots’ women’s indoor track team led the college in
selections with six team members. Juniors Abby Horneck, Hermiston,
Ore. (HS) and Amy Horneck, Hermiston, Ore. (HS) picked up their
second selection. Sophomores Audrey Bellefeuille, Highwood, Ill.
(Highland Park), Andrea Emery, Knoxville, Ill. (HS), Ashley Gaul,
Swansea, Ill. (Belleville East) and Joni Nelson, Little York, Ill. (Yorkwood)
were first-time selections.
Monmouth’s men’s indoor track team placed four on the list. Juniors
Zach Barr, Roseville, Ill. (HS), Jason Salmon, Metamora, Ill.
(Peoria Notre Dame) and Anthony Welty, Dixon, Ill. (Newman) were
selected for the second time. Sophomore Bradley Franks, Aledo, Ill.
(HS) was a first-time recipient.
