Scots’ Tanney named MWC Performer of the Week

MONMOUTH, Ill. – For the second time this season, the Midwest Conference has honored Monmouth College quarterback Mitch Tanney (Lexington, Ill./Lexington) with the league’s Offensive Performer of the Week honor in football.

The senior was honored for his outstanding play in last weekend’s 45-0 win over Illinois College.

Tanney, who entered the game as the passing efficiency leader in Division III, turned the tables and rushed for a 33-yard touchdown before passing for three TDs and 212 yards. His 22-of-28 passing day improved his season efficiency rating to 187.27.

The Fighting Scots currently hold a 15-game winning streak with two regular season games to play and lead the conference with a 7-0 record.
