
Scots’ Zigler named MWC Performer
of the Week

MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College’s Justin Zigler (Tampico, Ill./Prophetstown)
can add another honor to his trophy case.
Earlier this season, the Fighting Scots linebacker set the school
record for tackles, and this week he has been named the Midwest
Conference Defensive Performer of the week.
Zigler kickstarted the Scots’ offense Saturday with a 30-yard
interception return for Monmouth’s first score in a 34-0 win over
Lake Forest. The senior also added 10 tackles, three tackles for
loss, a sack, a fumble recovery and a pass defended as Monmouth
remained unbeaten on the year at 5-0. Monmouth leads the Midwest
Conference with five games to play.
A physical education major, Zigler is the son of Steve and Brenda
Zigler of Tampico.
