Release Date: December 6, 2005
Monmouth
College athletic director Terry Glasgow (left) recently had the
opportunity to congratulate two MC student-athletes for rare
accomplishments.
Women's soccer standout Amy Horneck
was selected as an Academic All-American by ESPN The Magazine,
becoming just the second female athlete in Monmouth history to be so
honored.
Anthony Welty also achieved an
honor that had only been accomplished once before at Monmouth when
he was named the Midwest Conference's Roy W. LeClere Award winner.
The LeClere Award is presented to an MWC male athlete who has the
highest GPA during his junior year while lettering in at least two
sports.
Horneck is a senior from Hermiston,
Ore., and Welty is a senior from Dixon.
