Thirty-one Monmouth athletes earn
MWC All-Academic honors

MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Midwest
Conference has recently announced the All-Academic teams for its
eight fall varsity sports. Included are 31 Monmouth College
student-athletes.
In order to be named to the MWC’s All-Academic team, a
student-athlete must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and must earn a
varsity letter in that sport.
The following student-athletes are Monmouth’s 2005-06 fall sports
representatives:
Women’s soccer (7) – seniors Kathleen Heinrich (Peotone,
Ill./Peotone), Abby Horneck (Hermiston, Ore./Hermiston) and Amy
Horneck (Hermiston, Ore.); juniors Audrey Bellefeuille (Highwood,
Ill./Highland Park), Amanda Havens (Big Rapids, Mich./Big Rapids)
and Kristin Mertel (Palatine, Ill./Hoffman Estates); and sophomore
Lauren Lafond (Batavia, Ill./Batavia).
Men’s soccer (6) – seniors David Danaher (Palos Heights, Ill.), A.J.
Danielson (Burlington, Iowa/Burlington) and Justin Williams
(Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek); juniors Rad Habayeb (Potomac,
Md.) and Paul Kallal (Jerseyville, Ill./Jersey); and sophomore
Trevor Neff (Morris, Ill./Coal City).
Cross country (6) – seniors Tanner Scott (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) and
Anthony Welty (Dixon, Ill./Sterling Newman); juniors Ashley Gaul
(Swansea, Ill./Belleville East), Joni Nelson (Little York, Ill./Yorkwood)
and Carissa Young (Smithshire, Ill./Roseville); and sophomore Kyle
Schierer (Metamora, Ill./Metamora).
Football (5) – seniors Tyler Dihle (Good Hope, Ill./Northwestern),
Matt Hammer (Shannon, Ill./Eastland), Mitch Tanney (Lexington,
Ill./Lexington) and Justin Zigler (Tampico, Ill./Prophetstown); and
sophomore Kyle O’Keefe (Tremont, Ill./Tremont).
Volleyball (4) – junior Kari Jefferson (Augusta, Ill./Southeastern)
and sophomores (Kendra James (Fulton, Ill./Fulton), Colleen Wilkin
(Fulton, Ill./Fulton) and Ashley Yeast (Sciota, Ill./West Prairie).
Women’s tennis (2) – juniors Holly Trotter (Elk Grove Village,
Ill./Elk Grove) and Sara Yerks (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) .
Women’s golf (1) – junior Kacie Parge (Aurora, Ill./West).
