
Pair of Scots named to
all-conference softball team

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Two newcomers to
the Monmouth College softball team were recognized for their talents
in a vote of the Midwest Conference coaches.
Sophomore outfielder Drew Robinson (St. Charles, Ill./North) and
freshman shortstop Emily Willems (Moline, Ill./Rockridge) were named
second team All-Midwest Conference.
The speedy Robinson led the Fighting Scots in stolen bases (14),
runs scored (17), total bases (32) and hits (32). She also led
starters in batting average (.308) and was caught stealing only
once.
A dangerous hitter, Willems could also flash the leather, leading
the team in assists (79). She committed just four errors in 140
chances. Offensively, she led the team in RBIs (11), and doubles (4)
and was second among starters in batting average (.278), total bases
(31) and hits (27).
A business major, Robinson is the daughter of Roy and Debra Robinson
of St. Charles.
Willems is the daughter of Theresa Willems of Moline and Ron Willems
of Milan.
