MONMOUTH, Ill. – A pair of Monmouth
College freshman swimmers have been named Midwest Conference
Performers of the Week.
Andrew Wilson (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) and Jenny Lewis
(Rensselaer, Ind./Central) each set school records during last
weekend’s DePauw Invitational and were rewarded with their first MWC
Performer of the Week honors.
Wilson set six school records at the 11-team meet. He won the
200-yard breaststroke with a school record time of 2:14.51 and
finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke. His preliminary time of
1:01.40 in the breaststroke was also a school record. He also swam a
leg on the 200- and 400-yard medley and 200- and 400-yard freestyle
relays to set school records in all four events.
Lewis has her name on five more school records following the DePauw
meet. Her preliminary time in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.01) set
a school record and her 200-yard backstroke time of 2:17.16 set the
new school mark in that event. She finished third and fourth in
those events, respectively. Lewis set another record with a time of
2:03.98 in the 200-yard freestyle and was part of team records in
the 200- yard medley and freestyle relays.
