MONMOUTH, Ill. – For the seventh
consecutive year, the Monmouth College volleyball team has landed at
least three members on the All-Midwest Conference team.
In a vote of the league’s coaches, senior outside hitter Karissa
Murray (Hometown, Ill./Oak Lawn) and sophomore middle hitter Kendra
James (Fulton ,Ill./Fulton) were named to the first team. Sophomore
setter Colleen Wilkin (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) was named to the second
team.
Murray led the Fighting Scots in ace serves (76) and was second in
kills (346). James paced the Scots in kills (412) and total blocks
(95). Wilkin tied the school record for season assists (1,331).
Murray and James picked up their second all-league honors. This was
Wilkin’s first selection.
The Fighting Scots finished the year 22-13 and took second in the
MWC regular season with a 7-2 mark. They also finished second in the
league tournament.
