Monmouth College places 20 athletes
on Academic All-MWC list

MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Midwest
Conference recently announced the All-Academic teams for its six
winter varsity sports. Included are 20 Monmouth College
student-athletes.
In order to be named to the MWC’s All-Academic team, a
student-athlete must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and must earn a
varsity letter in that sport.
The following student-athletes are Monmouth’s 2005-06 winter sports
representatives:
Men’s basketball (4) – seniors Tucker Blaser (Taylor Ridge, Ill./Rockridge),
Matt Hammer (Shannon, Ill./Eastland) and Chris Hebeler (Fulton,
Ill./Fulton); and sophomore Jesse Haskett (Manito, Ill./Midwest
Central).
Women’s basketball (3) – senior Courtney Scherrer (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah)
and sophomores Cassie Jensen (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth) and Ashley
Yeast (Sciota, Ill./West Prairie).
Men’s and women’s swimming (2) – seniors Brian Kura (Park Ridge,
Ill.) and Ashley Freeman (Chicago, Ill./Maria).
Men’s indoor track (4) – senior Anthony Welty (Dixon, Ill./Newman
Central Catholic); juniors Tim Frank (Farmington, Ill./Farmington)
and Bradley Franks (Aledo, Ill./Aledo); and sophomore Kyle Schierer
(Metamora, Ill./Metamora).
Women’s indoor track (7) – seniors Abby Horneck (Hermiston,
Ore./Hermiston) and Amy Horneck (Hermiston, Ore./Hermiston); and
juniors Audrey Bellefeuille (Highwood, Ill./Highland Park), Andrea
Emery (Knoxville, Ill./Knoxville), Ashley Gaul (Swansea,
Ill./Belleville East), Joni Nelson (Little York, Ill./Yorkwood) and
Erin Mann (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth).
