MC places 32 athletes on Academic
All-MWC list

MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Midwest
Conference recently announced the all-academic teams for its eight
fall varsity sports. Included are 32 Monmouth College
student-athletes.
In order to be named to the MWC’s All-Academic team, a
student-athlete must have completed at least one year at the
institution, must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and must earn a
varsity letter in that sport.
The following student-athletes are Monmouth’s 2006-07 fall sports
representatives:
Volleyball (9) – senior Kari Jefferson (Augusta, Ill./Southeastern);
juniors Megan Boesche (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb), Kendra James (Fulton,
Ill./Fulton), Colleen Wilkin (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) and Ashley Yeast
(Sciota, Ill./West Prairie); and sophomores Anna Damos (North
Henderson, Ill./United), Tanesha Hughes (Peoria, Ill./Woodruff),
Rachel Leffelman (Dixon, Ill./Dixon) and Crystal Myers (Byron,
Ill./Byron).
Football (6) – seniors Dante Daniels (Waukegan, Ill./Gurnee-Warren),
Shane Gordon (Abingdon, Ill./Abingdon) and Phil Kleckler (Davis,
Ill./Hononegah); junior Joe Pilger (Macomb, Ill./Macomb); and
sophomores Marc Artozqui (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and Matt Czuba
(Moline, Ill./Moline).
Women’s soccer (4) – seniors Audrey Bellefeuille (Highwood,
Ill./Highland Park) and Kristin Mertel (Palatine, Ill./Hoffman
Estates); junior Lauren Lafond (Batavia, Ill./Batavia); and
sophomore Liz Sandoval (Highwood, Ill./Highland Park).
Cross country (6) – seniors Zach Barr (Roseville, Ill./Roseville),
Ashley Gaul (Swansea, Ill./Belleville East), Joni Nelson (Little
York, Ill./Yorkwood), Carissa Young (Smithshire, Ill./Roseville) and
Taylor Froeliger (Erie, Ill./Erie); and junior Kyle Schierer
(Metamora, Ill./Metamora).
Women’s tennis (4) – seniors Holly Trotter (Elk Grove Village,
Ill./Elk Grove) and Sara Yerks (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley); and
sophomores Maddie Ethington (Orland Hills, Ill./Andrew) and Cassie
Frantz (Macomb, Ill./Macomb).
Women’s golf (2) – senior Kacie Parge (Aurora, Ill./West) and
sophomore Jessica Sackville (Aledo, Ill./Aledo).
Men’s soccer (1) – junior Trevor Neff (Morris, Ill./Coal City).
