Plenty of hoops at MC Thanksgiving
weekend

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Basketball junkies
will be able to get their fix this weekend at Monmouth and Knox
colleges when the 19th annual Pizza Hut Basketball Classic tips off.
The Pizza Hut Classic is also sponsored in Monmouth by County Market
Food Store and in Galesburg by Econo Foods. Together, the businesses
are providing free admission to the eight games Saturday and Sunday.
The Fighting Scots and the Prairie Fire will host women’s teams from
Blackburn College and Rockford College and men’s teams from
Hannibal-LaGrange College and William Penn University. Game times
Saturday are 5 and 7 p.m. in Monmouth and 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in
Galesburg. Games at both venues Sunday will begin at 1 and 3 p.m.
On Saturday, the Scots women will host Blackburn followed by the men
hosting Hannibal-LaGrange. Sunday’s schedule finds the women playing
host to Rockford, followed by the men entertaining William Penn.
