Monmouth College’s Scherrer is MWC

MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College senior guard Courtney Scherrer (Roscoe,
Ill./Hononegah) helped the Fighting Scots to an historic win and set
the school record for career assists as Monmouth completed a 2-0
week, earning Scherrer the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
honor in women’s basketball.
Scherrer’s week included dishing out eight assists in a 62-50 win
over Knox to set the new mark for career assists (332) at Monmouth.
Playing her last home game at Glennie Gym, the senior led the Scots
to a 65-63 win over Lake Forest, Monmouth’s first win over the
Foresters in 22 years. In the two games, Scherrer totaled 15 points,
11 assists, six rebounds and two steals while going a perfect
11-of-11 at the free throw line. With one game to play, she is just
two assists away from setting the Fighting Scots single-season
assist total.
An education major, Scherrer is the daughter of Steve and Carolyn
Scherrer of Roscoe.
