MC’s Ragone announces stellar golf
recruiting class
Release Date: May 11, 2006
MONMOUTH, Ill. — Monmouth College
golf coach Dave Ragone is in an enviable position following his
team’s recent second-place finish at the Midwest Conference
Championships. He returns a wealth of players from the 2006 squad,
including two All-MWC performers, and he also recently announced a
deep and talented recruiting class.
In all, nine current high school seniors plan to enroll at Monmouth
College next fall and play golf for the Fighting Scots. They include
Antioch’s Zach Coles, Lincoln’s Max Goodrich, Carthage’s Jared
Gregory, Rockridge’s Nate Harroun, Putnam County’s Ryan Harvey,
Casey-Westfield’s Jon Matthews, Peoria Notre Dame’s Riley Parungao,
Riverdale’s Ryan Tapscott and Dunlap’s Kyle Tuor.
“This is a very talented class, probably the best we’ve had,” said
Ragone, who also welcomed a stellar class three years ago. “Down the
road, we’re going to need this incoming group to replace our players
who are entering their final year.”
Monmouth won the MWC title in 2002 and 2004. Next spring, the MWC
champion receives an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.
