Monmouth College’s McKenna is MWC
Performer of the Week
Release Date: February 7, 2006
MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College’s Megan McKenna (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection)
left her mark at last Saturday’s Tiger Indoor Invitational at DePauw
University and picked up her first Midwest Conference Performer of
the Week honor in women’s indoor track and field.
McKenna, named the field Performer of the Week, cleared the pole
vault at 9’6-1/4 and soared 16’8-3/4 in the long jump. The
sophomore’s third place finish in both events helped the Fighting
Scots’ women to a third place finish in the 15-team field. Her long
jump moved her to ninth all-time on the Monmouth honor roll. McKenna
also took seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 32’8-1/4.
A business major, McKenna is the daughter of Debbie McKenna of
Chicago.
