MONMOUTH, Ill. – Monmouth College
sophomores Zach Wilson (Lacon, Ill./Midland) and Megan McKenna
(Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) left their marks at last Saturday’s
Washington University Invitational in St. Louis and picked up this
week’s Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honors in men’s and
women’s track and field. Both were honored for their performances in
field events.
Wilson posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the hammer
throw and took first with a school record of 169’10. He also won the
shot put with a 50’6-3/4 effort and was fourth in the discus.
McKenna placed second in the pole vault and brought home a pair of
third place finishes in the long jump and triple jump. Her pole
vault of 10’6 and triple jump mark of 34’7-1/2 are the best in the
Midwest Conference this season.
A biology major, Wilson is the son of James and Robin Wilson of
Lacon.
A business major, McKenna is the daughter of Debbie McKenna of
Chicago.
