MONMOUTH, Ill. – Monmouth College
senior Albert Greene (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) and junior Dante
Daniels (Waukegan, Ill./Gurnee-Warren) turned in NCAA provisional
qualifying marks at last Saturday’s Lee Calhoun Memorial meet in
Macomb, and picked up this week’s Midwest Conference Performer of
the Week honors in men’s track and field.
Greene took the MWC field event honor by breaking Monmouth’s
75-year-old triple jump record with a leap of 48’2-1/2. He also
soared 23’ in the long jump, the best outdoor mark of his career.
Greene is ranked second nationally in the triple jump and sixth in
the long jump.
Daniels continued his performance of a week ago, winning the
200-meter dash with a provisional qualifying time of 21.80. He also
ran a leg in the Fighting Scots’ 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays. The
4x400 team turned in a provisional-qualifying time of 3:16.01, which
placed them sixth in the nation.
