Monmouth College’s Stuart is MWC

MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College junior Alex Stuart (Kirkwood, Ill./Yorkwood)
had a busy day at last Saturday’s Dick Young Track and Field Classic
in Grinnell, Iowa, and was named this week’s Midwest Conference
Performer of the Week honors in men’s track and field.
Stuart, competing in the triple jump, long jump and javelin, had an
outstanding meet. He won the javelin with a career-best throw of
187’9, placed second in the triple jump (46’-8) and had a
career-best long jump of 21’10-1/2. His mark in the triple jump
places him eighth nationally and his javelin throw was just three
inches shy of the NCAA provisional-qualifying mark.
A physical education major, he is the son of Stacy Dutton of
Kirkwood and Bryan Stuart of Monmouth.
