Monmouth College’s Christensen is
MWC Pitcher of the Week

 MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College freshman pitcher Sarah Christensen
(Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) picked up three wins at last week’s
Midwest Classic and earned her first Midwest Conference Pitcher of
the Week honor.
Christensen went 4-0 on the week, beginning with a 3-2 win over
highly-touted Aurora University. In conference play, she picked up
two wins on the first day of the Midwest Classic defeating Beloit
9-2 and getting a 7-5 win in relief over Lawrence. The crafty
freshman then held off Ripon on Sunday to collect a 7-2 victory. For
the week, Christensen posted a 1.17 ERA with 14 strikeouts and two
walks in 24 innings of work.
Christensen shares the Pitcher of the Week honor with St. Norbert’s
Mara Resch.
An exploratory major, Christensen is the daughter of David and Becky
Christensen of Galesburg.
