Monmouth College’s Coutts is MWC
Performer of the Week

MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College sophomore outfielder Anna Coutts (Ladd,
Ill./Spring Valley Hall) continued her torrid hitting and was named
this week’s Midwest Conference Performer of the Week for softball.
Coutts hit .538 for the week, including a 4-for-4 performance in the
opening game of a twinbill at Knox as the Fighting Scots recorded a
pair of come-from-behind wins over the Prairie Fire. The Scots 16-6,
10-2 sweep of the Fire kept them alive in the race for the final MWC
playoff berth. She collected three hits in a doubleheader against
Illinois College while hitting in the number two spot in the order.
For the week, Coutts went 7-for-13 with four runs scored, a double,
triple and two RBI to raise her season average to .371.
A chemistry/education major, Coutts is the daughter of Robert and
Mary Coutts of Ladd.
