Scots swimmers are Academic
All-Americans
Release Date: March 29, 2006
MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Monmouth
College women’s swim team has made the grade with the College
Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The Fighting Scots women were recently named an Academic
All-American team by the CSCAA. Nearly 300 squads were named to the
list based on a team’s semester grade point average.
Monmouth’s team GPA of 3.16 placed them in the top 50 nationwide in
Division III.
“I’m extremely proud of the women for this accomplishment,” said
coach Keith Crawford. “We’re here to go to school and that’s
reflected by the women’s work in the classroom. More times than not,
the better schools in the country have student-athletes who are
talented both in athletics and academics.”
The CSCAA will announce their selections for individual Academic
All-American in June.
