Yeast named MWC Performer of the
Week

 MONMOUTH,
Ill. – A week after being named to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic
All-District V second team, Monmouth College’s Ashley Yeast (Sciota,
Ill./West Prairie) has been named the Midwest Conference Performer
of the Week in women’s basketball.
Yeast, who leads the nation in rebounding, continued her stellar
play in a pair of wins last week. The 6-1 junior center grabbed a
school-record 21 rebounds to go with 13 points in a 71-55 win over
Knox and recorded 18 rebounds and 19 points during a 74-59 win at
Illinois College. With one game remaining, Yeast holds the team
record for rebounds in a season (304), is second in career rebounds
and has posted 15 double-doubles this season.
An accounting and physical education major, Yeast is the daughter of
Stephen and Judy Yeast of Sciota.
