MC’s Shepherd earns MWC Performer of the Week

 MONMOUTH,
Ill. –
Monmouth College freshman Matt Shepherd (Leesburg, Fla./Leesburg)
scored two touchdowns in the Fighting Scots’ 41-19 win Saturday over
Lake Forest College and was rewarded for his efforts with the
Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week honor.
Shepherd returned the second half kickoff 86 yards for a
touchdown and helped the Scots turn a tight game into a blowout win
over the Foresters.
He also returned three punts and his 190 total kick return yards
is second on Monmouth’s all-time list. The sure-handed freshman also
grabbed two passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.
