Carter is MWC Performer of the Week

MONMOUTH,
Ill. – Monmouth College senior Alex Carter (Wilton, Iowa/Wilton) was
unbeaten last week and was named the Midwest Conference Performer of
the Week honor in men’s tennis.
Carter, who hadn’t played competitive tennis until head coach Chad
Braun spotted him in a physical education class, posted the Fighting
Scots lone singles victory over the University of
Illinois-Springfield last week.
He also was the solo winner the week
prior against Division I Western Illinois University. Playing at No.
5 singles, Carter stretched his six-match winning streak with wins
over opponents from Loras and Quincy. He teamed with doubles partner
Greg Bouslog in improving their unbeaten string to three matches.
An education major, Carter is the son of William and Joy Carter of
Wilton.
