Turczyn, Reschke advance to Indoor Championship finals

College
seniors Shannon Turczyn (Peru,
Ill./LaSalle-Peru) and Luke Reschke (Geneseo,
Ill./Geneseo) advanced from the
prelims to Saturday’s finals of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track
and Field Championships held at the Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology at Terre Haute, Ind.
Turczyn, making her
sixth appearance at a national meet, broke her own school record in
the women’s 55-meter hurdles. The three-time outdoor All-American
clocked an 8.26 in Friday’s prelims and is tied for the sixth seed
heading into the finals. Somer Rohrs of
Frostburg
State ran the top seeded time
of 7.97.
Reschke, a six-time
All-American, advanced in the men’s 400-meter dash with a time of
49.01. He is seeded third, just .22 seconds behind top seeded Alex
Eaton of Thiel
College.
Another senior,
Jacob Stott just missed the finals of the 400, running a 50.44.
Sophomore Logan Hohl failed to make the finals in the 55-meter
hurdles after running a 7.82 in the prelims.
Other events for
the Fighting Scots on tap for Saturday besides Turczyn in the
hurdles and Reschke in the 400 dash are Gloria Lehr in the women’s
shot put and the 4x400 relay team of Reschke, Stott, Hohl and Ryan
Hardman.
